Greetings to you all
Cherished friendships are among the best of blessings in life.
Often, when we reflect on it, a lesson we learned from a long-lost friend has a lasting impact on our lives, even when our paths no longer cross. A fun and fascinating paradox in life is the fact that frequently we meet our best friends in totally unexpected ways.
One of the quiet rewards of cultivating our congregational life is to tap into the values of Christ-centered fellowship, a resource that benefits every worshiper, whether first-time acquaintances or long-term friends.
Although we never really know how or when a friendship will really “click”, there is a supreme value in each step believers take to invest in the friendliness and faithfulness of their own church body:
An old Irish poem puts it this way:
“There are wooden ships, there are sailing ships,
there are ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships are friendships,
and may they always be.”
