Greetings to you all

It’s a joy to welcome each of you for celebrations from the heart each Sunday!

Our Cafe Liberty gathering from 9:45 until Worship at 10:15 AM is a time of refreshments and greetings that we love to share.

We pray each step of faith you take in the week ahead will be blessed with encouragement and energy.

In one of the best-loved of all Christmas carols, we sing the refrain: “Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing“.

Like many great songs, it speaks directly to a deep need while stirring us to a higher goal. We can almost see the innkeeper in Bethlehem explaining to Mary and Joseph that there is “no room for them in the inn” as we apply the question it raises: “What are you doing now to prepare for the Lord’s arrival?”

In every aspect of Advent there is an anticipation of change and a yearning to honor the arrival of the Messiah. Individually we’re invited to share in a story that renews its life-giving impact with each telling.

Invitation is truly at the very center of the story.

His invitation resounds in each aspect of Advent so that “every heart” can “prepare Him room”. From the inner sanctuary of a believer’s soul to the vast cathedral of creation, a song leaps into life.

No wonder Isaac Watts, in writing Joy to the World, drew such a link between individual hearts, in our need for Jesus, and the jubilant future of creation.

The song itself is a gift to all of us, pointing to the bright future when “you shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace. The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” (Isaiah 55:12)
