Greetings to you all!

Join us for our re-start of Café Liberty for the upcoming fall season. With schools back in session, we pray for much wisdom and grace for all parents, teachers and students in managing this significant time of new endeavors for each.

As summer slips away soon, there are so many points of care and fellowship that have enriched this congregation. In conversations with guests, new members and visitors for baptisms and the church picnic, I’ve been deeply touched by the way guests share their pleasure at finding such a warm welcome among the worshipers here.

We’re also pleased to welcome new members of the Cafe Liberty Team!

Thanks to each of you who are taking a Sunday-per-month on the serving team, with Sara Wallick as Coordinator and with Joyce and Chuck Blevins showing the way, stepping in so often for extra service and handling supplies and purchases for the team. It’s our desire in this team as well as in the Worship team, media team and Kids Ministry teams to activate gifts of God’s grace and share the genuine joys of strengthening the Body of Christ.

Many thanks to each of you who assisted the Kids Ministry leaders in re-locating the nursery and rearranging and cleaning for this new season of classes.

The re-set nursery now on the 1st level is so nice as well as the upstairs classrooms for Pathfinder and Explorers. It’s delightful and moving to see the care and kindness of all who have stepped in to serve with special tasks. We are especially grateful for the initiatives that Jody Albright and Marsha Nusbaum lead for all who serve in Kids Ministry.

In our message time tomorrow, I’m sharing a perspective on church life that is close to my heart. I picture this as placing the “stethoscope” of Scripture on the heart of our congregational life. Our goal is to deepen a shared sense of mission in which every worshiper is involved in a meaningful way in making God’s grace visible to others.

Looking ahead….Ladies, please place Sunday September 24th on your calendars for the upcoming Ladies Luncheon immediately following morning service. We look forward to special gatherings such as these and welcome all ladies to attend.

Our next single-evening men’s Bible study group will be on Tuesday, October 10th, with a meal at 6:30 PM and a Bible study/discussion group at 7:00 PM. For these gatherings, email reply to me here or text me @ 410.596.4096 to link up with us for the meal and meeting.

Operation Christmas Child is on the way as well! We look forward to participating again with friends from other congregations in Carroll County. This program is designed for anyone to participate in the goal of blessing tens of thousands of children with supplies and surprises that bring the love of Christ to them in an unforgettable way! What a joy it is to join this endeavor of thousands of believers, committed to blessing children just in time for Christmas.

Mission Sunday ~ On Sunday, October 22nd, we’ll celebrate the unique contribution of career missionaries in tough and often hostile parts of the world. The heart of the Great Commission is to make disciples in all the nations and the “GO!” part is where career missionaries blaze trails for others to follow. Pray for all the missionaries you know and join us in honoring their work for God’s glory. We’ll also have latest news from Challenge Farm with updates on the sponsorship needs there, as we pray for all those Challenge Farm staff whose service in rescuing, strengthening, blessing and training of students from many harsh environments in Nairobi, Kenya is making such a difference.

We SO enjoy hearing from those who are with us online in Liberty’s live stream from wherever you live, work or travel.
