Dear Liberty family & friends:
At the heart of Palm Sunday is the cry of “Hosanna!” In a single word from the 118th Psalm, the mission of the Messiah was summarized.
To shout this vital word, “Hosanna”, is to say, truly from the heart, “Yes, Lord, I still need the salvation that only comes from You.” Included in His powerful promise are all the ways in which we need God’s grace for the challenges we face in life.
Full freedom to follow God’s will wholeheartedly is more than being saved from past sins. It’s the present tense reality expressed so dramatically when Jesus chose a donkey’s colt to introduce His Kingdom! That display of astounding humility from the King of kings shows us how fully Jesus has entered into the troubles and perils of our world. Count on this in your heart as we welcome the wondrous working of the Holy Spirit in our midst.
Yes, “Hosanna” resounds today from the grateful hearts of the redeemed. It’s the vital truth Jesus taught His disciples about the purpose of His coming:
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save those who are lost.” (Luke 19:10)
