Greetings to you all
Join us, friends, in the newly upgraded Cafe Liberty space to welcome guests together from 9:45 – 10:15 AM.
In every gathering of God’s people, we want all worshipers to know how much your involvement and support means to this congregation.
Serving with joy for the glory of God is a powerful source of energy in life. We see it, sense it and share it in so many ways here in the life of the church.
Last Sunday, Becky and I were touched by all the expressions of love and support in Pastor Appreciation Sunday. Your care and generosity bless us in more ways than we can put into words. Thank you for such enriching encouragement. Original art, smiles and hugs from the Pathfinders and Explorers were like icing on the cake!
Becky and I are traveling between October 20th and November 1st
On Sunday, October 26th, we’re grateful for Justin bringing the Word in worship and for our elders Lou Enoff and Jerry Reese who always join me in welcoming your texts, calls and/or emails for a prayer or personal need. We count it an honor to confidentially pray for anyone reaching out with a need. Contact info:

We’re delighted to share choice opportunities for mission and ministry in November!
Please note a few highlights of prayer focus and mission in the weeks ahead
Sunday, November 2nd ~ Honor and Prayer for the Persecuted ~ 10:15 AM in Worship
Thursday, November 6th ~ Faith Quest Evening/Packing Party for Operation Christmas Child – a combined Kids and Adults mission evening, to share in packing OCC shoeboxes together. Starting at 6:30 and wrapping up at 8:00 PM. Sign-up on Connections Table to give coordinators a count for volunteers. [More details below]*
Friday, November 14th ~ Liberty’s Annual Gratitude Dinner! 6:00 PM in the fellowship hall – a superb way to begin the Thanksgiving season together. Sign-up sheet on Connections Table.
Sunday, November 16th ~ Communion-in-worship during our 10:15 AM service
*Plans for our Operation Christmas Child mission-sharing:
First, as we’ve done each year, we invite you to fill your own shoeboxes for kids with the easy-to-follow steps at this link: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box/
Secondly, participate in the Operation Christmas Child Packing Night on Thursday, November 6th.
This is our first mission outreach. We will be packing shoeboxes to share God’s love and the good news of Jesus Christ with children across the world.
How can you get involved?
1. Purchase shoebox items and leave them in our donation bin at the back of the church.
2. Donate money for us to do your shopping for you. Label the check with OCC in the memo line before dropping it in the offering box.
3. Attend the packing night to help us pack and pray over the boxes. Sign up for the night on the Connections table, so we know you are coming.
We look forward to partnering with you. Please let Laken or Hannah know if you have any questions.
Third, to help receiving shoeboxes here at church use Sign-up Genius (below) or the sign-up sheet on the Connections Table.
Joan Spangler’s team needs volunteers here at church at various times from Monday, November 17th-24th. The time-slots listed in the link below are either 3.5 or 4.5 hours (depending on the day). Multiple helpers are needed each day. Would you help us get an early start on lining up the volunteer team?
Feel free to share this opportunity with friends, neighbors or co-workers. Volunteers from several area churches will also join us here to support this exciting mission week.

Please join us in prayer for those in ongoing phases of recovery from surgery and/or in therapy, including Joyce Blevins, Patty Reese and Gary Mitchell.
Our condolences and prayer for the family of Richard H Esposito of Sykesville, who passed away at the age of 78, on October 7, 2025. We know the loss of a grandparent is a momentous event for children. We pray for Charlotte and Gwynneth Esposito and their mom, Colleen (daughter-in-law of Mr. Esposito) in this time of loss. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Sykesville Memorial (7327 Slacks Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784). The family asks friends to keep Richard Herman Esposito’s legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
